Fact or Fiction: The new 360 controller is far and away better than the Xbox S controller.
Fiction: I’ve been fortunate enough to get my hands on the new controller and can tell you that while the new Xbox 360 controller does make some necessary corrections to the current generation of controllers, it is not that much of a leap in terms of feel. The start and back buttons have been relocated to more appropriate positions and the black and white buttons have been moved to the shoulder position. The biggest improvement can be found in two areas. First of course is that the controller is now a 2.4 GHz wireless with a thirty foot range. Next is the center guide button that allows you to access your friend’s list, turn the console on or off, or access game and media applications.
On the positive side, there doesn’t appear to be any major negatives about the new controller. The worst that we can say is that Microsoft didn’t try to fix what wasn’t broken and added a couple of bells and whistles.
