Fact or Fiction: There are both underrated and overrated games in the launch window.
Absolutely fact: I’ve got just a few predictions for you:
Most underrated game overall for the 360 launch:
Kameo: Elements of Power. Trust me on this one.
Most overrated game overall for the 360 launch:
Perfect Dark Zero. No big surprise here. This game has been in development too long and expectations were bound to be overly high.
Potential Sleeper hit:
Condemned: Criminal Origins. Combine elements from the Silent Hill series with CSI and you just might have a title that catches gamers by surprise.
Biggest disappointment:
We have a tie here: Madden 06 and Tiger Woods 06. Neither game has lived up to expectations thus far. On the plus side though, FIFA 06 and NBA Live 06 are looking as though they will be good first generation sports titles. NBA 2K6 is also shaping up to be an excellent sports game.
Game that will most show what the future holds for Xbox 360:
I’m sticking to my guns on this one, although I don’t expect to get it before January or February 2006; Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Morrowind showed us just how large and expansive a game could be. Add lifelike graphics, an improved combat system and you’ve got the makings of the RPG that old timers like me have been waiting on for years.
As November 22nd draws nearer and nearer, there are a lot of questions yet to be answered. I urge you to stay tuned to Console Gameworld for the latest Xbox 360 information.
