Fact or Fiction: All the Xbox 360 launch games will be lackluster and will disappoint gamers.

Fiction: While it’s true that the first generation of 360 games is not indicative of what we’ll see down the road, by no means are all the games a disappointment. Call of Duty 2, Kameo, NBA 2K6, NBA Live, Oblivion, Condemned: Criminal Origins, Oblivion and Dead or Alive 4 all appear to be solid games for the initial launch window. In truth, I believe that gamers might have expected too much too soon. When you go back and look at two of the most successful console launches in history, the Dreamcast and PS2, there were very few good titles available when those systems debuted.



I think the biggest disappointment for gamers will be that some titles will not make launch day, and might in fact slip into 2006. Early contenders for a 2006 release include, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warrior, Oblivion, Project Gotham Racing 3, Frame City Killer, The Outfit and Saint’s Row. This leads us to…
