Some of these people just buy Halo and GTA games because they have become apart of pop culture by this point. On the other hand, some people may view it as a sort of novelty, and pick it up as an alternative to Xbox 360 or PS3. While granny may not me able to mix it up in Tekken 5, she sure as hell can wave a wand around to make all the colored boxes move in some cutesy puzzle game, and that counts for something.
So will Nintendo survive the next generation? Yeah, probably. Although they haven’t lead the market since the Super Nintendo, they always seem to have a place. Their existence depends on one thing that has served them since the beginning. You make a Mario game (or several), you make a Zelda game, you make a Metroid game, and perhaps you even throw in something like a Castlevania or Contra.
Everything else is coincidental. As long as they implement these games with the Revolution they will be fine. Trust me, if they didn’t know that they could, they wouldn’t have made the leap. Miyamoto is a genius. That’s just stating the obvious. This might be the thing Nintendo needs to finally regain the crown and prove they’re still the original kings.
