What has made this niche demographic really explode in the last 2 years has been the number of games that allow for gameplay in the 16:9 wide screen format (many in high definition). The list of games allowing this (and this was only after 5 minutes of googling) is:
1) Colin McRae Rally 3
2) Ghost Master
3) Homeworld 2
4) Morrowind: The Elder Scrolls III
5) Savage
6) Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix (Gold Edition v1.03)
7) Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
8) Unreal Touranment 2003
9) Grand theft auto vice city
10) Max Payne 2
11) Counterstrike (v1.6 and higher)
12) World of Warcraft
13) Battlefield 2
Remember that before you go any further, you have to have a graphics card with an HDMI or DVI output to hook into the TV. An HDMI output can usually be found in the ATI All In Wonder video cards since HDMI cables carry both video AND Audio signal, while DVI carries only video. If you find something you like, don’t worry about its connection too much since HDMI to DVI conversion cables are rather common. Okay so now you need to know what type of TV to buy. That’s where I come in. In my time as a sales person I have run over nearly every question there is about television technology and I aim to make it simple and understandable without a whole ton of techno-babble.
