An interview with the President of Ultimate Game Chair Inc.
Gaming chairs are pretty sweet. We know, we've tried some out, and will keep trying more out looking for the Ultimate game chair. Which, oddly enough, is what the company with the same name is striving for.
Not only that, but Ultimate Game Chair Inc. is the first company that produces game chairs to partner up with any gaming company to directly brand their chairs. Capcom has been working with UGC to make the Reactor, UGC's latest seat. While our interview is a bit more in-depth than most are accustomed to, our friends over at Gamer Shell (get it?) did an earlier interview that speaks more about the chair itself, so take a look at that if you're interested.
Gameworld Network: Can you give us a brief rundown of the Reactor chair, such as its components and functions?
Jamie Duran: [Here's the list:]
- 8 GameSync’d Vibration Motors
- Headrest Mounted 3.1” Full Range 3D Stereo Speakers
- Compatible with all game consoles, home theater, portable game devices, iPods
- Use with any wireless accessory, steering wheel or other gaming accessory
- Connect multiple game chairs together
- Stylish game design
- MP3, Headphone Jacks
- Audio & Vibration Adjustments
- Less then 10 minutes to assemble
- Compact design for quick and easy storage
GWN: What goes into making a gaming chair, and what was different, if anything, with the Reactor?
JD: With this model, we wanted to deliver a straight up $199 gaming chair that could fit into most home décor. We balance the needs of the gamer who wants the best and most realistic game experience with the needs of the mom, who wants something that complements the other furniture in her family living room and also can be easily stored when not being used.
GWN: How much time does it take from deciding to make a model to getting it in stores?
JD: Approximately 1 ½ years.
