CoolIT Announce ATI 2900XT Single Slot Cooler
Home : News : News Story

CoolIT have announced the upcoming launch of a single slot cooling device for the ATI 2900XT.

Using microchannel technology in a closed liquid cooling design, the new CoolIT device only takes up a single slot in your PC case, whereas traditional coolers would have required two slots. This in turn would enable the use of up to four 2900 XT graphics cards on a single motherboard, if the motherboard supports it.

Obviously, for this kind of setup you would require a high-end power supply, CPU and RAM to get the most out of the system. It's possible that motherboard makers could design such a board in the future, however it's unlikely given the costs involved. In the mean time, those of you looking for a single slot cooler for your ATI 2900XT should check out the CoolIT solution. We'll have a full review of the cooler online as soon as they ship.
