For the first time in a number of years, Gateway has reported a small profit for Q2 2007. The company had a net income of $1.9 million for the period, while revenues were $841 million.

This is in contrast to Q2 of 2006, when the company made a net loss of $7.7 million.

Gateway attributed the success to increased sales in the retail sector. 1,088,400 PCs and its 50 millionth PC overall were sold during the quarter.
