Two New Xbox 360 Designs to Recycle, Keep Cooler
Home : News : : News Story

Two updates to the Xbox 360's motherboard design to keep it cooler and lower the price.

While it hasn't been confirmed, it seems that Microsoft isn't content with their console (note, RROD). They're at upgrading it again, but this time its not with something like the Elite or giving it a smaller processor.

Working on two separate designs, Microsoft is aiming smart and good for the environment. The first design reuses motherboards from consoles that have been sent in for ultimately breaking, while the other fuses the CPU and GPU to keep the system need only one fan and run cooler.

Of course, this is great because reusing pieces is obviously cheaper and great for keeping our landfills cleaner, and putting the GPU and CPU together means you only have to cool one down, so it should run smoother and quieter.
