According to Sony Magazine, which no one around's actually heard of until this news broke, a PSP styled phone is set for release, very soon, actually. The magazine says it could be out as early as February, which according to the calender is half over already.

Of course, as early as doesn't help with an actual release date except for giving us more false hope. News like this is great to hear, because maybe it means Sony is getting close to finding a suitable PSP-phone. 

"Styled" should be noted doesn't necessarily mean that it's due to be a PSP in any way, especially since we only recently got the PSPS's (slim) not too long ago. We here expect another year and a half life cycle for the PSP at least, and it would be odd for Sony to make a gaming phone. It may look like a PSP or, possibly, even have a similar style, but that's it.

It could turn out to be a good phone though, and may have some specialized functions for mobile gaming. Not that mobile gaming on anything other than a PSP or DS is worthwhile.
