NVIDIA: Kicking Ass and Taking Names, Possibly Using Cans

NVIDIA CEO Jen Hsun-Huang claims integrated graphics performance is pathetic

Yesterday, we showed you how NVIDIA was taking a stand against Intel. Today, they are outright mocking, with CEO Jen-Hsun Huang ready to "open a can of whoop-ass", probably on the market, but more likely all over Intel.

He goes on to say that Intel's current integrated graphics are "a joke", which they are for everything but businesses and "running excel", and that upgrading a videocard is much more important than upgrading the CPU.

Huang really brought the fight back to Intel after claims that multi-GPU systems were ridiculous, and that eventually CPU's will offer enough cores to function as both CPU and GPU concurrently.

We hold that NVIDIA still owns Intel in terms of graphics processing, but Intel isn't going away anytime soon. So unless NVIDIA expects to somehow stay in the market after Intel pours millions, if not billions of dollars into making the CPU's they're looking to make, NVIDIA won't have a future 5-10 years from now. And it's doubtful that they'll shack up with AMD, knowing full well that they're in direct competition with ATI...though that would be an interesting turn of events that we just might like to see. So long as prices don't shoot through the roof and the drivers actually improve.
