Asus Mobo Goes DX10 Direct, Sign of Things To Come?

Asus releases information on the G35 series of integrated graphics motherboards

DX10 boards are the future, some would say. While many people are unhappy with both Vista's spectacular use of resources (as in, using them above and beyond the call of duty), DX10 hasn't actually gone far enough for games to really push Vista out of the way. Most games still require an extra stick of 512MB of RAM to match gameplay on XP, at the least.

Add that knowledge with the recent hate put on Intel for their claims that soon Videocards will become useless (or at least unnecessary because all graphics processing would be done onboard), and there are more than enough tempers to wake up the nieghborhood.

Regardless, Asus today released information on their G35 series of motherboards, all sporting integrated graphics capable of DirectX 10. It may not be a big deal now, especially with NVIDIA and ATI both pushing videocards so very hard, and the obvious advantages they still hold over integrated graphics, but the model may catch on over time. Something to watch over the years to come.
