Intel Releases Drivers for DX10 on Integrated Chipsets, NVIDIA Laughs
Home : News : : News Story

Intel states it's latest GM965 and G35 Express chipsets now work in Vista with new drivers.

Add another chapter to the NVIDIA vs. Intel war everyone. Intel released info that they officially can run DX10 games on integrated chipsets. Sounds like anarchy might be starting up soon enough? Don't count on it. Not yet at least.

The scores for the five games tested didn't get over 5 frames per second, which if you'll recall is between unplayable and not really being considered playable. As expected, Intel is quick to point out that yes, at least it works.

At 1280x1024 on the lowest settings for games like World in Conflict and Crysis, it's sad. But it's a start...NVIDIA can laugh all they want, but in five years they won't be laughing so much. Unless they're starting to make CPU's, in which case, I reserve the right to not be blamed for any loss of stock you may have in Intel.
