Nyko Recharging Your Wii Fit Board, Sparing Us of Disposable Batteries

Nyko releases information on their new Energy Pak rechargeable battery for the Wii Fit board

If there's one thing the whole wireless phenomenon has done, it's taken disposable and rechargeable batteries to a whole new level. Nyko has been at the forefront of the rechargeable battery front with their Wiimote battery (since nobody will touch the 360 or PS3 battery packs).

So it shouldn't come as any surprise that they jumped on this opportunity, which no one else has (yet), to make a rechargeable battery for the Wii Fit fitness board. Of course, the question is whether it's worth it, since disposables are obviously cheap, and anyone could just buy rechargeable AA or AAA batteries and use those instead.

Here's what sets the Energy Pak, other than the name: it recharges from inside the board, meaning once it's in, you'll never have to take the battery out. Ever. Even if the battery is overused and turns to crap and can't hold a charge for more than a few minutes, you can keep it plugged in and never worry about buying batteries again!

Now that's nifty. I mean, unless the cost of energy outweighs buying batteries...but that won't happen until we're all driving plug-in vehicles and charging them during the day.
