ATI releases Diamond's Radeon HD 4870 XOC Black Edition, first "Super RV770"
It's good to see that ATI is back in the game, and they aren't pulling punches like before. The latest iteration of the 4000 series is the 4870, which has been made specifically to give GTX 280 owners cry and the rest of us wet ourselves.
Not only is the 4870 built water cooled, it comes with unlocked bios for mad overclocking. If you want to push it past 1GHz, you probably could.
And here I was getting worried that ATI was dead in the water. Looks like they've still got some sleeves to pull tricks out of.
