Nintendo didn't notify 3rd party peripheral companies about their MotionPlus Wii remote add-on
Hey, amazing that it's been two weeks since the last post. With the hubub of E3, planning and the aftermath, it's been hard to catch even a moment here, but we'll make it up to you, I promise.
First thing that was really "WHAT?!" that we found out at E3 was that 3rd party peripheral companies weren't informed about the MotionPlus add-on for the Wii. My impressions on it can be seen here, but it's been a big deal for some reason. I don't quite know why, especially since it's almost a full year before the release of the MotionPlus.
But I suppose some people need to be upset about something. I can understand why Nyko didn't know, considering they're less-than-friendly relations with Nintendo and the ongoing litigation over the Kama Wireless Nunchuck. Logitech didn't seem worried at all, and my impressions on their state of mind for in industry will be posted shortly as well.
