Logitech G3 Laser Mouse

My final complaint about the Logitech G3 Gaming Mouse is in regards to the scroll wheel. Since the mouse is specifically intended to be a gaming unit, the lack of side scrolling capability is forgivable, although a little irritating. The bigger problem that I had was with the stiffness, or amount of resistance, of the wheel. Because it requires a reasonable amount of force to rotate, I found myself accidentally depressing it when I scrolled, activating whatever function I had programmed. This did not happen all of the time, and after a short period I adjusted the enthusiasm with which I rolled it, but initially it bothered me.

Ambidextrous design will appeal to lefties.

Conclusion

At an M.S.R.P. of $59.99, the G3 is the cheapest of Logitech’s G-Series mice, and it is the only one in the series that is truly ambidextrous. Plus, it is fast, accurate and smooth to maneuver. What it really boils down to is whether the buyer is ready to adopt the uncomfortable (for me, anyway) claw style grip and put up with a few design flaws like button placement. If this type of thing doesn’t bother you and you don’t mind (or even prefer) the claw style grip, then the G3 is a decent mouse to consider.

Highs
Truly ambidextrous design, extremely precise and responsive, adjustable resolution on the fly, polytetrafluoroethylene gaming feet allow for easy sliding.

Lows
Small size forces user to use uncomfortable “claw-grip” style, Side buttons are too easy to mistakenly hit, Scroll wheel is so stiff that it is easy to depress just trying to spin it, no side scrolling on wheel.
