A capable and accurate mouse, let down by some unfortunate button placement.
Considering that I am a HUGE fan of Logitech, having been impressed with nearly everything they have sent me to review, I can’t help but be a little disappointed by their latest foray into the gaming mouse market. This is not to say that the new Logitech G3 Gaming Mouse is not a good piece of equipment; on the contrary. Still, I tend to set my standards fairly high when dealing with Logitech, and I feel like the G3 fell a little short of expectations.
Appearance
The G3 is not a bad looking mouse. In fact, for what it is, it is reasonably easy on the eyes. A metallic gray, glossy, striped gradient pattern top surface is surrounded by a matte black rubber main body. The two main buttons are, likewise, the same matte black rubber with a matching scroll wheel between them. Because this mouse is intended to be ambidextrous, the form factor is exactly symmetrical. While this does nothing for the style factor, it is a particularly functional design. The G3 will not blow your socks off with its beauty pageant looks, but it also won’t send you fleeing in disgust. It is a decent looking design for a decent peripheral.
