The rest of the controller, like the Xtended Fret Button Array, just oozes quality. The normal fret buttons are much more sensitive than the standard controller. The whammy bar is ultra-sensitive and feels much sturdier than on any other guitar I've used. A soft blue light emanates from below behind the string, which serves as both a subtle indicator that the controller is working and as a really cool effect. The included strap is comfortable and feels like real leather; the controller even has different strap holes to allow for left-handed or right-handed play.
The guitar itself is comfortably light and unwieldy, with a shape that is comfortable to hold. I do have one minor complaint, however. I often like to play Guitar Hero sitting down, holding the guitar like one would an acoustic guitar – that is, with my right arm resting on the top of the body. The Freedom Five's design makes this impossible to do. It isn't a major issue, as I don't know anybody else who plays this way, but I still feel it's a drawback worth mentioning about the Double Range Freedom V Wireless's otherwise wonderful design.
All in all, the Double Range Freedom V Wireless Controller is a fantastic product. It has a few minor shortcomings, but on the whole it provides a Guitar Hero experience that is in every way better than using the default controller. It may be a bit pricey at $69.99, but it's worth every penny.
