A disappointing product that seemed to have little to no effect on RAM temperatures.
The RAM Fan from CoolIT systems claims to be simple to install while providing much needed air flow to vital computer components such as the RAM and voltage regulators. Does it provide what it claims?
The RAM Fan was tested in the P180 case by Antec on the A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard from Asus, covering two identical pieces of DDR400 Kingston RAM. Before installation, which was more trouble than you would be led to believe due to the somewhat shoddy construction of the item in question, normal temps for the RAM hovered around (without precise instruments for testing) 35c and hovered around 40 or so while overclocked from 3-3-3-8-11 to 2-2-2-6-10.

After installation of the RAM Fan the temp drop was close to nil in both occasions, hovering around the same 35c while not overclocked and hovering about 40c while overclocked the same as above. Whether it is simply a limitation of the RAM or something else it could not be pushed further with or without the supposed extra cooling. Average ambient temperature in the system did not drop with the presence of the RAM Fan.
All in all, the RAM Fan from CoolIT systems seems to be more of a curiosity than a necessity.
