The attack of the cyborg (controller) begins.
PC Gamers are bound to be familiar with Saitek brand name. For years Saitek has provided affordable, quality gaming peripherals. While they have offered gaming pads in the past, never has the company offered a game pad, targeted specifically at the console gaming market and offering the level of customization of the P3600 Cyborg Rumble Pad.

Half man, half machine, all...umm...controller?
Appearance:
The overall shape of the P3600 is very similar to the black Microsoft XBOX 360 control pad. A solid black main body with gray analog sticks houses a number of buttons in either black or silver. The four shoulder/trigger buttons are likewise black. The left analog stick and d-pad sit on a silver “cyborg module” (more on that later). The only real color visible on the unit is a glowing red ring that illuminates when the FPS mode is activated, and the painted letters on the right hand button array. Ultimately, the P3600 is a fairly standard looking controller, but don’t let the looks fool you; it is a far cry from “standard”.

Performance:
My initial impression of the P3600 was very favorable. For basic operation the pad is comfortable, the analog sticks and buttons provide a nice level of resistance and responsiveness, and the vibration feedback is quite strong. Since it is a corded pad, there are no issues with lag, and in-game performance is excellent.
Where the P3600 really differentiates itself from other PC game pads is in its unique customization features. The first and most obvious of these features is Saitek’s “cyborg module”. With the press of a button on the back of the controller, a pod supporting the left analog stick and d-pad detaches from the main body, allowing you to rotate and reattach the pod. By doing so, the user can choose either a PS3 style stick alignment, with both sticks at the bottom, or an XBOX 360 controller alignment, with the left stick higher on the body of the unit than the right. Which style the player chooses will probably depend on which console the player is used to, but both work perfectly well.
