Ultra's new X2 is a beast.
Remember back when computers came in boring beige cases, with no windows? Remember when components were drab stainless steel, or aluminum? Remember when 300 watts sounded like a pretty high output for a power supply? Well, those days are gone my friend. Nowadays cases come in all different configurations, colors and materials, and components are held to the same stylistic standards as the cases they are housed in. The gaming consumer wants something special in all components, and power supplies are no exception. Enter the Ultra X2 750W Extreme Edition power supply.

The box with the power... supply, that is. (That was bad!)
Appearance
There are two versions of the unit, one with UV lighting and windows in the side and one without windows. The unit that was sent to me was the UV lighted version.
From the moment that I removed the X2 from the box I was struck by how cool it looked. The entire unit is housed in a shiny chrome finish, titanium coated steel case. Windows on the side of the unit allow you to see its inner workings, and are coated in a UV reactive film that glows when the unit is being used. On the bottom of the unit is a huge, black 120mm fan grill with the Ultra logo in chrome running across it. The internal light can be seen through this grill as well. The only non-chrome panel on the X2 is the modular cable output which is a matching black to the fan grill.
