Finally, a mouse designed for strategy and MMO gamers! But what does it offer besides a modest $40 price tag?

If you’re going to be playing against other people online, it makes sense that you would want the best equipment so as to not put yourself at a disadvantage. For a while now hardcore first-person shooter gamers been purchasing special gaming mice designed with the level of sensitivity appropriate for a first-person shooter. But what about everyone else who plays online games? The Razer Krait is the first mouse targeted towards players of real-time strategy and MMO games.

Sleek styling is the order of the day with the Krait.

The Razer Krait is a rather nice-looking piece of hardware. The sleek black finish is very chic, and is complemented nicely by a gentle orange glow that is emitted from the scroll wheel and the sides when it is plugged in. It is a good size; it isn’t a monster, like many other gaming mice, but it isn’t so small that you find your hand cramping. I attribute part of this good design to the simplicity of three buttons. While many mice designed for gamers have more than your standard two buttons and scroll wheel, the simplicity of the Krait is what, in my opinion, makes it look so good and feel so comfortable. I even found myself preferring to use it over my normal mouse for everyday tasks.

The Krait also features a seven-foot “tangle-free” gold-plated USB cable, which for what it’s worth is pretty snazzy. I’m not sure exactly how it is “tangle-free”, but even as someone used to using a wireless mouse I had no issues with the cord. The mouse also features Teflon feet, which really gives you a fantastic floaty feeling unlike normal mice.
