We take a look at the very cool Charger Grip, and Charger Case.
I use my PSP a lot. I watch movies on the way to the office, listen to music most of the day, and get down to some serious Metal Gear Acid and Lumines from time to time. Because my little handheld is always humming, I keep a lot of extra battery packs on hand. How many? Let’s just say that I could probably own stock in Sony because of it and the guy at my local Best Buy has taken to calling me “Copper-Top.”
Since I am steadily and single-handedly reducing the world’s supply of Lithium-Ion, I am always willing to try anything that will save me some valuable battery power. Enter a couple of very cool add-ons from Nyko to save me from my energy depleting ways or at least make my supply last a bit longer.
The charger case is a groovy little device that acts as a sturdy storage unit for the PSP. It has a galvanized steel look, has managed to protect my PSP from a drop off the kitchen table (let that be a lesson to you – always move the PSP before starting a marathon Magic: The Gathering session with your kids), and lives up to its claim of adding at least five hours of life to the PSP’s battery. At about fifty bucks it is a bit of an investment, but is well worth it for serving the dual purpose of protecting the unit and recharging the battery. In my opinion simply by keeping the handheld from getting scratched and dirty has made the charger case worth its salt.
