In terms of ease of use, the Sentry LX was a breeze, but it was not without its faults. First and most important: because of the nature of the LCD readout, viewing information from any angle other than straight-on is virtually impossible. If you have your rig sitting on the floor (like I do) then you will have to lean over to be able to make out the readings. From any other angle, it looks as if every number and indicator is fully illuminated. Now, since you are probably not going to be checking fan speed and temperature on a minute-to-minute basis, this will probably not be a big problem, but it is a problem nonetheless.
The second problem that I ran into was the size of the unit. It was not quite large enough to fully fill the bays that I installed it in (Boy, if I had a dollar for every time a girl has told me that…ahem… I mean told “my friend” that). Because of this size differential, a small crack was visible above the Sentry LX. This probably will vary between cases (I use an Ultra M998) and is a purely aesthetic issue. Still, I know how serious gamers can be about their beautiful cases, so you have been warned.

Conclusion:
Overall I was fairly happy with the NZXT Sentry LX. It operated as advertised, and did exactly what I hoped it would do. If you can overlook the hard-to-read LCD and the minor size discrepancy, you may find the Sentry LX to be a handy little addition to your rig. Heat can be a dangerous thing in today’s gaming monster rigs. It is nice to know there is one more way to make sure yours stays cool.
