Performance:
When it comes to performance, the Avatar really runs the gamut. On one hand, you have a very responsive peripheral, with particularly smooth operation, and accurate tracking. On the other hand, the shape of the mouse and placement of side buttons serve to undermine the functionality of the unit as a whole… I’ll elaborate.
First the good: The Avatar is an excellent piece of hardware from a strict performance standpoint. The rubber coating on the unit feels great on your fingertips, and the buttons are all quite responsive, with a satisfyingly “clicky” feel.

In terms of in-game performance, the unit is likewise impressive. It is really, REALLY responsive, quite accurate, and (thanks to the Teflon coated feet) very smooth to move around your mousing surface. The DPI switching buttons are easily accessible, allowing you to adjust your resolution from 600, 1200, 1800 and an unprecedented 2600 DPI on the fly. A fairly robust software suite makes programming each of the 7 buttons a snap, and since there are 5 profiles available, you have the ability to store settings for as many games. One feature that the software does lack is the ability to adjust the increments on the resolution settings. Therefore you are stuck with the pre-established resolutions that I mentioned above. Not a major problem, but a small detail worth noting.
