Performance

To fairly rate the MC2 I think that it is necessary to address the two components (wheel and pedal array) separately.

The wheel itself is actually quite nice. The steering provides just the right amount of resistance throughout rotation. On-screen response is tight and accurate. All of the buttons are placed within easy reach, including the paddle shifters which are dual function, meaning that pulling them towards the wheel functions as one button press (default is LB and RB) and a different button press (default A and X) when you push them away from the wheel. The shifter knob is easily accessible and comfortably clicks forward and backward when utilized.

The vibration feedback is even adequate, although a little on the weak side. Since the wheel was designed to sit in the user’s lap, it was a relief to find that the leg indentations are comfortably placed, although I found the extendable leg braces that can be pulled down uncomfortable, and therefore not very useful. This may just be because I am abnormally tall, at 6’4”. If lap driving is not your thing, the bottom of the wheel unit is also equipped with suction cups for table mounting, although if your table has a porous surface I wouldn’t count on the cups working very well. Still, the wheel unit is a solid and fun peripheral overall.
