Unfortunately the same can not be said for the pedal array unit. For some reason MadCatz decided to set the pedals on a dual hinged arm. Because of this arrangement there is very little tactile feedback between the fully extended and fully depressed states of the pedals. What this means is that it is very difficult to have ANY type of middle throttle control. The pedal is either fully depressed or not depressed at all. This is okay for most arcade racers, like Need For Speed: Most Wanted which don’t require accurate gas operation, but I had severe difficulty with Project Gotham Racing 3, since it leaned a little more toward simulation style gaming, and therefore required accurate throttle and brake control.
To make matters worse, the pedals, when fully depressed lay flush with the foot plate, which is parallel to the floor (or whatever you have the pedal array sitting on. This is an uncomfortable position to sit in for any extended period of time, and causes the pedal array to constantly slide away from you. The pads on the bottom of the pedal array do not provide enough grip to hold the unit in place on carpet, and the foot rest to the left side of the pedals is not adequate to allow you to pin the unit in place with your left foot while operating the pedals with your right. Therefore you will find yourself frequently repositioning the pedals during play. This can be a bit on the annoying side, to say the least.
