Conclusion

Considering how limited the options are for wheel controllers on the XBOX 360, a serious player can’t really afford to be picky. The MadCatz MC2 360 is definitely a viable option even with some moderately serious shortcomings. While the wheel unit itself is a solid, comfortable and functional peripheral, the construction of the pedal array detracts from the overall functionality of the unit as a whole. Still, even with the problems with the pedals, I found myself enjoying using the MC2 to play arcade style racers that don’t require quite the accuracy of throttle control that sim-style games need. If you MUST have a wheel controller, and are willing to overlook some small but irritating faults, this steering wheel may just deserve a green light.

Highs
Sturdy quality of construction; Fairly good response and control; Great level of resistance throughout the entire rotation of the wheel; Vibration feedback; Comfortable on lap.

Lows
Dual hinged pedals do not allow for very accurate throttle control; Pedal array slides around too easily; Not true force feedback; Suction cups for table mounting limit where you can place the wheel.

Final verdict
Mad Catz' solidly built and comfortable Xbox 360 MC2 Racing Wheel does what it is supposed to do. Unfortunately the pedal array has its share of minor problems that prevent this from being anything more than a strictly competent wheel controller.
