Reasonably high volume is achievable assuming the source can output a decent level. The unit puts out more than adequate sound for an office or small to medium sized room, but may not be suitable for a crowded area or the outdoors. Again, this is to be expected from a portable unit.
Conclusion
I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the A-200. Granted, the price is a little high for portable speakers, but you are certainly getting a lot of performance bang. With a slick look, easy to carry size, and wide range (for its size) of sound output, the A-200 is a worthy first foray into the portable audio market for Saitek. Now if they could only make it a little easier to turn on.

Highs
Decent sound quality for size; Expandable cavity for subwoofer allows for extra bass; People may really like style; Reasonably portable; Works with batteries or included A/C adapter; Neoprene case and cleaning cloth included.
Lows
Lacking in some midrange frequencies; Bass tends to fall off at lower volumes; People may also really hate style; Small, but not pocket sized; A little on the pricey side; Hard to activate bass cavity.
Final verdict
The A 200 is a cool looking (assuming you are into this style) and nice sounding little unit; however a difficult power switch/bass cavity and a slightly high price point detract slightly from its overall appeal.
