Universal Challenge Wheel

The wheel is actually very well constructed and doesn't have a light or cheap feel to it. There is some clicking when turning the it fully to the left or right and when using the gearshift levers that allow you to upshift and downshift when racing. The up and downshift buttons don't work right off the bat in every game so you may need to configure them before your race gets underway.

The table clamp included with the wheel will have you wondering how well it could possibly work at first, but it does a surprisingly good job of keeping the wheel in place. The pedals that come with the racing wheel are small, but they work great and don't seem to slip very much during gameplay. That's a must if you plan on staying in first.

The rumble feature is supposed to help give you a sense of actually being a part of the action. You want to feel like you just ran off the road and slammed into a wall when you do it in the game. Unfortunately the strength of the rumble in the Universal Challenge wheel falls so flat that it might as well not even be there . The rumble turns out to be so light in some games that it's barely noticeable. The sturdy construction may have dampened the effect making for some lackluster shakin' and quakin'.
