Let’s you tear up the track in real racing fashion. But this mini-sized steering wheel may be geared more toward kids than adults.
Just because you're a fan of racing games doesn't mean you want to buy a steering wheel for each system. That sort of thing can get expensive and let's face it; who really has the room for three or four of them? The Thrustmaster Universal Challenge Racing Wheel was designed for the gamer that really does have it all in the way of systems and was created to easily switch between the Xbox, PS2, PSOne and the Gamecube. Just plug the appropriate system controller plug into the right controller port and start playing. It's pretty much that simple.
The Thrustmaster Universal Racing wheel is very small. In fact, it looks like something you'd expect to see in a kid's pedal car when it comes to size. Needless to say that those of us with adult size hands may find it has a bit of an awkward feel when it comes to hard turns.
The tiny size doesn't help when it comes to button placement either. The digital pad and six of the eight controller buttons are placed into a very cramped configuration that is meant to be intuitive, but somehow fails. It might not be so bad if your hands curved slightly out like with a controller, but since you'll need to turn your hands inward to reach the buttons, it might aggravate you or give you carpal tunnel. The mode button allows you to switch between digital, analog and neGcon modes to suit your needs.
