TrackIR 4 Pro

Setting up the TrackIR was a snap. I simply inserted the CD and followed the prompts. I was apprehensive at first with the overly simple instruction booklet which only contained a few pages of large illustrations on where to set the TrackIR and how to place the TrackClip on the hat. I thought technology this advanced would require hours of setting up and inputting commands to fine tune and adjust, but after viewing the control panel for the unit I was relieved.

The instructions included are not very detailed and for someone who isn’t very computer savvy, it might be difficult to get off the ground (no pun intended), fortunately however, NaturalPoint has a very detailed website along with good customer support which makes it easy to answer any questions you might have. The site offers all kinds of solutions to setup issues and they frequently update their page with profile downloads on games that are coming new on the market.

Speaking of profiles, not only does the software come with pre-programmed profiles for individual games, it also allowed me to personalize a profile to my liking. A window below the control panel shows the three markers on the hat in real time allowing me to adjust the sensor which locates on top of the monitor to center where I’m sitting directly in the TrackIR’s direct field of view. This way I could get comfortable and center myself with the sensor’s vision, with a quick tap of the F12 key it centers me on the screen.
