The TrackIR's software is easy to understand. This is the profile manager.

I decided to test the unit on 3 different games; Lock On: Modern Air Combat, IL2 Forgotten Battles and Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. I started up Lock On: Modern Air Combat (the combat flight sim that I’m most comfortable with) and jumped in to a quick combat scenario. I was shocked that the device immediately recognized my head movements without having to configure the device in my game. Although it was a shaky start, simply because I had to acclimate to the movements, it didn’t take long to get comfortable and start having a great time.

I was awestruck at how quickly I became more immersed in the game than I had ever been before. I tapped F12 to center myself in the cockpit and from there on out it was hell in the skies until the wee hours of the morning. I started reliving old campaigns that once were bland and 2 dimensional and started feeling like I was actually part of the action instead of witnessing it.

The first game improvement I noticed is how many keys were freed up on my flight control sticks. I freed 10 keys which were previously used as my head movements, camera adjustments and zoom levels. Now they were free for target designation, weapon selection, changing of ripple quantities, etc. The second improvement was exactly what I hoped the product would do; it brought a level of game immersion I’d never before experienced.

How your head will look in the game.
