TrackIR 4 Pro

As the plane stopped I was brought back to reality. I was back in front of my computer and no longer a fighter ace above the war torn skies of some imaginary Middle Eastern country.

I was amazed at how much I was sucked into the game by this tiny little piece of engineering goodness. The freedom that this opened up to me in the game was incredible. I felt in total control of my aircraft and my view.

This picture shows how you sit in relation to the tracking unit in front of your pc. Hitting F12 re-centers the tracking which allows you to get up and come back to the game.

After the initial 5 minutes it took to get used to it, the feeling of looking around became as natural as peering around this room I’m sitting in now. The learning curve is measured in a matter of minutes. All this comes for around the same price as a quality set of flight controls. The unit came through with flying colors. I expected some problems while waiting as the TrackIR was being mailed to me but I experienced none. The setup was simple and easy. The options seemed endless and it performed as promised. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who takes flight simulators seriously. For an unmatched level or reality and a truly one of a kind experience, there is no other peripheral on the market that can bring you what the TrackIR can.

I would say hats off to you boys (and girls!) at NaturalPoint, but if that were true… I run the risk of crashing my 40 Million dollar aircraft that the United States Military has so trustingly put in my very capable hands.

The TrackIR 4 Pro costs $179.95 but is worth every cent if you're heavily into the games that the TrackIR supports.

Highs
Extremely smooth running. Easy to acclimate to head movements and bring a level of realism not before matched with other device. It’s affordable for most gamers (about the price a decent set of flight control stick and rudders).

Lows
Not enough information in the user manual. Fairly complex when it comes to adjusting sensitivity and setting up the software, but the information on the website fixes that along with great customer support if you run in to any issues.

Final verdict
Although setting up the unit could be easier, nothing this complex has ever been so simple to use. The customization possibilities are endless and the unit comes through with flying colors. This is a ‘must have’ peripheral for almost all serious game play
